HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR BREATHING

James Nestor is a prolific author and journalist who writes with a particular emphasis on science and human potential.  In his best selling book, Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art he puts forward the idea that the vast majority of us are breathing incorrectly.

Considering we take approximately 25,000 breaths a day, getting something wrong that many times has to be having significant consequences – those who specialise in breathwork, would say grave consequences.  Isn’t it strange to think that something we must do to live, is given so little attention, and even though there is clearly a movement growing around breathwork, we are a long way from where we need to be.

In this extremely helpful video, James Nestor offers five ways to transform your breathing, explaining the science behind why this is so essential, and practically demonstrating how to get our breathing back on track.  Amongst the many advantages of breathing in the correct way is improving anxiety, asthma, snoring, autoimmune diseases, the health of our internal organs and the efficiency of our systems.  Even posture is improved as a result of breathing in the correct way.

It should be of no surprise that the very thing that’s keeping us alive, when done correctly, makes us 25,000 times more likely each day to enjoy a better quality of life.  There is nothing more essential to our health and well-being than breathing.
