INTRODUCTION

It’s interesting to note that both mindfulness and meditation are now gaining respectability in mainstream medicine, psychology and healthcare. The scientific evidence is rapidly mounting which demonstrates the emotional, psychological, spiritual and physical benefits offered by these two great traditions.

 

During the last 25 years or so, especially the last decade, mindfulness in particular is being regularly offered as an antidote to many of the western ailments.  It’s worth remembering that these wonderful traditions have been around for over 2500 years and so it’s not that we are making new ‘discoveries’, in fact we really are only ‘remembering’ or more accurately reclaiming an important message from our ancestors.

 

In this section we will feature things that pay proper homage to mindfulness in all its forms dating back to the time of Buddha, Lao Tzu, Confucius and the other ‘giants’ of the East, right up to the present day renaissance.  We hope you enjoy the journey….
