THE DOUBLE SLIT EXPERIMENT

“A scientific world view which does not profoundly come to terms with the problem of conscious minds can have no serious pretensions of completeness.  Consciousness is part of out universe, so any physical theory which makes no proper place for it falls fundamentally short of providing a genuine description of the world”.

Sir Roger Penrose (1931 – present)

The double slit experiment is probably the most famous of its kind, indicating the role of consciousness in reality.  In simple terms, it is helping us to understand that the observer is effecting that which it observes.  This has huge implications for our understanding of reality and calls some of our theories and conclusions about the world and our place in it into question.
