KERRY BLISSET

Kerry is a very warm, kind, sincere and empathic soul.  She is particularly passionate about helping those who are marginalised and less fortunate.  Most of her professional life has been spent caring for others and working with those who are chronically ill or dying.  This is why she is a perfect fit for helping those who are most needy and desperate.  When she is committed to a cause or an individual, she is unwavering in her allegiance and support.

Kerry has done a lot of work on herself in an attempt to make peace with her own challenging past and demons.  Her success in this regard is one of the reasons she is so effective when it comes to working with other people.  We are very proud to have Kerry become one of our associates, because her passion and compassion make her a wonderful advocate for our unique way of working.

So, if you’re looking for someone who will fearlessly stand with you, to face those things you’re most concerned about and afraid of, look no further.

Here’s what Kerry has to say…

Hi, my name is Kerry Blissett. I am a Holistic and Integrative Psychotherapist and a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

I was first introduced to Reach in 2008 when, despite many years of practising and teaching meditation, I found myself at an all-time low, which was having a huge impact on me – both mentally and physically.  Deep seated issues from the past, including being adopted and then losing both adopted parents, had caught up with me.  I was floundering in what I would describe as the dark night of the soul.

Several of my close friends were being supported by Easton at Reach, and as a result, I could see how they were not only overcoming their challenges, but were flourishing in their lives. This gave me the courage and inspiration to contact Reach myself.

As I embarked on my own therapeutic journey I could clearly see that this was an approach that could offer me sustainable solutions, and help in all aspects of my life – mentally, physically and spiritually.  It was a profoundly life-changing experience, which inspired me, once I’d completed my own therapy, to firstly do the Postgraduate Certificate in Coaching (Coaching Plus), then go on to do the Holistic and Integrative Psychotherapy course, after undertaking some additional counselling training. These two Reach courses were quite incredible and I found them transformative.

This training has not only given me the skills to help others with their own personal challenges, but has also enhanced my work as a Cancer Support Specialist at a cancer drop-in centre, where I provide emotional support to people affected by cancer.  It has also immensely helped in my 20 year career as a specialist palliative care nurse.  In fact, Reach has taught me so much about myself and others that this positive energy spills over into all my relationships and connections.

What I love most about being a Reach associate is seeing how empowered clients feel when they begin to make changes in their lives and develop their own self-care toolbox.  Despite the range of life’s challenges, I have come to see how The Reach Approach is a one-stop shop for so many people striving to overcome their problems and find lasting solutions.  It is a great privilege to be in the position where I can help others to become the best version of themselves.
