GREG SAUNDERS – THE INTEGRATIVE MENTORING EXECUTIVE

Greg’s association with Reach has spanned two decades.  During that time he has undertaken a comprehensive journey of personal and professional growth, fearlessly examining his own inadequacies and shortcomings.  As a result, he has been able to find a greater peace of mind and contentment, which are qualities he brings to his executive, mentoring and coaching work.  Greg successfully graduated from our Coaching Plus course at the top of his cohort, producing some spectacular pieces of work along the way.

Greg is a highly intelligent, thoughtful, empathic and conscientious individual, who is always willing to go that extra mile to help.  As a result of the work with us, he has created a wonderful fusion between business and personal, mentoring and psychotherapeutic coaching, which he offers to his clients.  He has an extensive corporate background which has included working with CEOs, chairmen, creatives, senior and managing partners, operational and finance directors, as well as working with those developing small and medium sized businesses.  His coaching and mentoring support also offers clients options for how best to run their business (whatever the arena/sector) with humanity, integrity and conscience.  He has applied our famous Story of Health model to all aspects of his work with great success, helping his clients to combine good and ethical business practice with a deeper understanding of the human condition – showing how that can empower them in their personal and professional lives, improving their profits without compromising their values and beliefs.

Here’s what Greg has to say…

As an associate of Reach, I set up the The Integrative Mentoring Executive to work sensitively with the whole person, in the work context, to help people become better versions of themselves, more effective and resilient, and to address their most pressing work/business, organisational and personal challenges.

In doing this, I was inspired by, and now regularly draw on, not only my formal training, including with Reach (Postgraduate Certificate in Psychotherapeutic Coaching) and with the AOEC (Executive Coaching), but also the extensive and highly relevant experience of my own personal and career ‘journeys’ in which I’ve overcome many of the tough challenges faced by the people with whom I work.

In my forties I appeared, to the outside world, to have it all – a great career and family life, material abundance, an enviable lifestyle… but the reality could not have been more different – high pressure, long hours, terrible work-life balance, endless tricky politics, incessant physical and mental stress, strained relationships (both at home and work), limited ability to enjoy the ‘spoils’ of my endeavours, frustration, exhaustion, the list goes on and, no surprise, I became increasingly unhappy and unhealthy. I was heading for the buffers.

I was, in truth, the primary architect of my own circumstances yet, at that time, I was blind to this and the epitome of Einstein’s famous definition: “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”.

No matter how hard I tried, I got the same, undesirable, results! Something had to change… Fortunately, a combination of fate and free will took me to the door of Easton Hamilton, founder of Reach, and the rest, as they say, is history – initially a client of Reach, ‘taking the journey’ with Easton, I later undertook the training and became an associate and today I’m living a very different life, my best ever.  Much happier, healthier, and wiser, I love my work with a passion – more than any I’ve done before – and I feel blessed and privileged to be able to help other people reach better places, both personally and professionally.

“Only when we’re brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light… [but]…We don’t have to do all of it alone. We were never meant to”.
