Andy has been tenacious, dedicated and patient in accomplishing his distinction in our Postgraduate Certificate in Coaching Plus and we are delighted for him. Life kept throwing him ‘curve balls’, as it does, during his personal journey and then his study, but he didn’t give up. His belief in the approach, his gratitude for how it has empowered him and his desire to pass this gift forward with sincerity and humility makes his a very warm and safe pair of hands to work with.
We highly recommend him to all.
Here’s what Andy has to say…
In 2017, after years of therapy and personal growth, I embarked on my own recovery journey with Reach, learning to embrace my authentic self and to advocate for my own needs. Through Reach, I learned to show myself compassion rather than criticism, which became a crucial part of my journey of forgiveness and growth.
Upon completing Reach’s Postgraduate Certificate in Coaching with distinction, I gained a solid foundation that enables me to help others unlock their own limitless potential. As a coach, I consider it a privilege to share the life-changing gift of Reach with others and guide them through their personal journeys. After a successful career in the hospitality industry in the 1990s, I found my true calling in supporting young people and their families.
My journey began in 2001 when I volunteered as a child counsellor with Childline, later becoming a counselling supervisor. I then went on to work as a School Mentor, working with young people aged 5-18 years and providing vital support to their families.
In 2008, driven by a desire to make a more direct impact, I founded my own project, Aspire. Over the past twenty-four years, I have worked in hundreds of schools across the West Midlands, gaining invaluable experience in addressing the emotional well-being of young people. I’ve found that I can be a positive role model, especially for young boys, with outcomes that truly make a difference in their lives and the lives of their families.
Since 2009, I have been fortunate to work closely with the King Edward VI grammar schools foundation, providing weekly one-on-one sessions to pupils. These sessions address the challenges that impact their daily lives, helping to remove significant barriers to learning. Aspire has also developed its own bespoke parenting program, Aspire Parenting, which works to increase the confidence of parents and carers in raising their children, ultimately fostering stronger, healthier family dynamics.I am also a trained Freedom Program facilitator, delivering support to women and children recovering from domestic abuse.
As a qualified Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities (SFSC) practitioner, I help families build strong cultural and ethnic foundations while promoting more positive parent-child relationships.
I am able to offer face to face in South Birmingham or online sessions via various platforms such as Skype ,Teams or by phone.
