We are pleased to announce that Rupinder Sagoo having successfully completed her postgraduate training with us is now a Partner in Reach.
Rupinder is another wonderful addition to our team and like all of our practitioners has taken the challenging journey of introspection and self-discovery… and she continues to do so.
Rupinder is warm, sensitive, passionate and a great communicator – her clients report feeling truly heard and held by her. Her warm, patient and nurturing style, mean that she is able to meet the individual where they are and help them to confront their anger, hurts, sadness and trauma knowing they are not alone – as a result they are enabled to become the best versions of themselves. We are proud to have her as part of our special team…
My name is Rupinder Sagoo. I have been involved with counselling and psychotherapy both personally and professionally for around 20 years. My journey began as a client and at that point I came into contact with Reach. I was in a very dark place in my life and the journey I took helped me to deal with the many challenges I’ve had growing up as an Asian woman in the UK, where I have faced numerous racial and cultural challenges. The therapeutic work I did enabled me to transcend those negative feelings and influences and increasingly I found myself able to make positive choices.
I also found the work with Reach invaluable during the time of my divorce and it has given me the strength to raise my son as a single mother, not feeling blighted by many of the labels and prejudices that exist in our society for those who find themselves in this position. The work has enabled me to find peace and stability. This is why I wanted to train as a counsellor and psychotherapist (particularly with Reach) to help those who may well believe there is no way back. I can assure you there is – the human spirit is incredibly strong and resourceful, all that is needed is the right knowledge, resources, support and empathy – and I thankfully found that.
Professionally, I have worked in a variety of settings and specialist organisations, both in Birmingham and London. I have done a lot of work with homelessness, drug and alcohol addiction, as well as anxiety, depression and self esteem issues, working with challenging client groups and issues along the way.
My journey with Reach helped me to realize my true purpose and potential and has enabled me to live my life with integrity, honesty and holistically. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity work in this way.
