Waste Weakens

Transcending Toxicity

"The secret of health is the removal of waste"...  This is one of the underlying principles of The Reach Approach. We have long championed the idea that until you remove the obstacles to healing, recovery simply is not possible. The ancient Chinese and Indians both worked out long before modern medicine was born that health was not ours to give, it was a natural state. Our responsibility is to remove those things that block the flow of health, and once that is done healing can and does take place.  Therefore to achieve optimum well-being we need to remove waste from all areas of our lives.  To explore this subject further, please click here

Responding or Reacting?

The theme for the 2012 calendar is learning the art of responding rather than reacting. Reacting is an impulsive position which does not take time to properly consider the consequences of its actions; not until after the event. We generally refer to this as hindsight. Responding on the other hand is a more aware, considered and empathic position, which chooses to consider the consequences of its actions before it acts - this is better known as foresight. It is our proposition that those who respond rather than react achieve better outcomes and enjoy a peace of mind and happiness rarely experienced by those who simply react to life.  If you are interested in finding out more or want to purchase a calendar please go to our gift shop...

Epigenetics

We are more than our genes

The debate between nature and nurture is another area where we are beginning to see it is not one thing verses another, in fact both things are needed in the shaping of the human story.  Genes are an unquestionable force in our lives, but it is inaccurate to describe them as the most telling feature.  We now know that it is the environment that those genes are exposed to that has the biggest influence on their expression.  In other words environment matters no less!  Epigenetics is the new science that is rapidly exposing the fact that we are certainly more than our genes.  To discover more please click here

Neurotheology

Bridging the gap between science and spirituality

For far too long there has been a fairly pointless debate raging between science and spirituality, which has failed to see the value inherent in both schools of thought.  Over the last 500 years science has been developing a monopoly on 'truth' and because it has delivered on so many of its promises in the form of various technological advances, it has for many become the new 'God of our time'. Sadly, this has meant that many of the spiritual values and principles once held dear have been discarded.  Thankfully a new era is dawning... a marriage between science and spirituality, their offspring is an embryonic discipline called neurotheology.  To find out more please click here

Changing The Way You Think

Taming the voice within

Good mental health is determined by the voice within... the inner narrator. S/he reads faithfully from the script that has been written over the course of your life. If that script is positive, inspiring and uplifting, then what a gift! Sadly, this is rarely the case. Most of us have a script that is mixed - often confusing, sometimes condemning and certainly self-limiting. If our script is never challenged or questioned we become attached to the notion that the voice within truly represents our point of view. Even worse than that we passionately defend its opinions, ideology and beliefs because we now believe they are our own! And yet so much of what we carry around with us as our beliefs are merely ideas and concepts we've inherited that don't necessarily reflect our truth....
