What is Dove House?
Dove House offers a range of specialised residential programmes as well as short breaks and day workshops throughout the year, but at Christmas time and New Year, it offers something a little different. It is set in the beautiful and peaceful countryside of County Mayo, in the north west of Southern Ireland, just one mile from the sea and close to the coastal village of Killala. Dove House offers a tranquil escape from the fast pace of modern living and offers a warm welcome to all who visit.
Who is ‘Create a Christmas’ aimed at?
This break is intended for anyone who might otherwise spend the Christmas period on their own, regardless of the reason.
What is on offer?
Dove House offers an alternative festive experience where strangers quickly become friends and the sharing and caring spirit of Christmas is created and enjoyed by all. Christmas meals will be festive vegetarian cuisine, complete with plenty of sweet treats and wine in the evening. Weather permitting we hope to hold a Christmas BBQ and for those who wish to participate there will be opportunities for walking, a festive treasure hunt, a movie night complete with popcorn, a boules tournament on the beach and, of course, there will be time to simply relax. Accommodation is on a full board basis from Friday afternoon until Tuesday afternoon.

Who is this New Year break aimed at?
This break is intended for anyone who might otherwise spend the time on their own, but would prefer to share this New Year holiday with others.
What is on offer?
This is a slightly shorter break than the Christmas one and offers a New Year Experience with a difference. Accommodation will be on a full board basis from Friday afternoon through to Monday afternoon. Food will be festive vegetarian and the main evening meals will include wine. Optional activities will include walking a woodland trail, beach walking, making and flying your own kite and a movie night, complete with popcorn! There will also be opportunities to have fun and also to simply relax and put your feet up with a good book or some soothing music.
