Responding or Reacting?
The theme for the 2012 calendar is learning the art of responding rather than reacting. Reacting is an impulsive position which does not take time to properly consider the consequences of its actions; not until after the event. We generally refer to this as hindsight. Responding on the other hand is a more aware, considered and empathic position, which chooses to consider the consequences of its actions before it acts – this is better known as foresight. It is our proposition that those who respond rather than react achieve better outcomes and enjoy a peace of mind and happiness rarely experienced by those who simply react to life.
